Role Overview:
We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Quantitative Analyst to join our growing team. As a Quant at Usual, you will work closely with our Chief Quant Officer (CQO), another quant, and a quant developer to enhance our protocol, develop strategic partnerships, and support our sales team. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a cutting-edge DeFi project set to transform the financial landscape. We are preparing for the pre-launch of the Usual protocol, which already has $55M in Total Value Locked (TVL) onchain, with numbers rising.
Key Responsibilities:
Enhance V1 Protocol:
- Upgrade and continuously improve the current version of our protocol to prepare for the launch and Token Generation Event (TGE) of the governance token.
- Ensure the protocol remains competitive and aligned with the latest industry standards.
- Leverage game theory and complex tokenomics to align interests and attract stablecoin liquidity.
Support Strategic Partnerships Development:
- Support business cases for partnerships with leading DeFi projects such as Pendle, Morpho, Origami, and Frax.
- Provide quantitative support to evaluate and integrate new partnerships, representing 30-40% of your focus.
Innovate Future Protocol Developments:
- Envision and plan the next steps for our protocol beyond V1, introducing new features and improvements.
- Propose new features and improvements to keep Usual at the forefront of DeFi innovation.
Support Sales Team:
- Provide quantitative analysis and support to the sales team.
- Create compelling data-driven sales materials to attract and retain clients.
Skills and Qualifications:
Autonomy and Problem Solving:
- Ability to independently develop and implement solutions.
- Strong analytical skills to tackle complex issues and propose effective solutions.
Project Management:
- Lead and manage projects to ensure timely and successful completion.
- Coordinate with different teams to achieve project goals.
Communication:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Capable of writing research papers, analysis reports, and customer-facing documents like whitepapers.
Team Collaboration:
- Strong ability to work and communicate across different teams (Sales, Partnership, Tech, etc.).
Technical Skills:
- Coding Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Python (7-8/10 proficiency). Capable of writing and executing complex scripts.
- Quantitative Expertise: Advanced background in mathematics and economics (Master’s level in quantitative fields preferred). Preference for candidates with an engineering background.
- DeFi Knowledge: Deep understanding of decentralized finance and its mechanisms. Experience in risk management, front office (trader, quant, structurer) roles preferred.
